Changelog
Write the release record, link it to shipped features, and tell subscribers and requesters.
What you can do
- Create a changelog entry and keep it as a draft until it is ready
- Link the entry to released features
- Publish so the portal, widget, and RSS feed can show it
- Notify subscribers and the people who asked
How to
- Open Changelog for the product.
- Create an entry. Write what shipped in customer language.
- Link the released features this entry covers.
- Publish when the copy is ready. Drafts stay off the portal.
- Use the notify options the publish step offers so subscribers and requesters hear about it.
- Add the changelog widget or an in-app banner if people who are already in the product should see it too.
Limits
- Only published entries appear on the portal, widget, and RSS feed.
- Requester notify depends on feedback being linked to the shipped feature.
- The changelog is the written record. The banner is the in-product last mile.
